There is a new group of Pearl Residents that are contemplating organizing a volunteer group dedicated to helping the Park Rangers and Security to help assure the safety. This is not a totally new effort. According to Bill Dolan, chair for the Livability Committee of The Pearl District Neighborhood Association there was a group of citizens who used to patrol Tanner Springs Park. Currently there is an active group call Friends of the South Park Blocks. They are active and successful with their efforts in their community have a model program. They have had great success interfacing with Park Rangers maintenance and care of the South Park Blocks. Here is the link to their website: fospb.org.
